Bcycle & Fitness Reopening Plan

Governor Baker announced the start of Phase 3 as of July 6th, 2020. This is outstanding news! Not only is our community doing its part in controlling the spread of COVID-19, but it also means we can begin running indoor fitness and spin classes! We are very excited to welcome back all our members and guests. We have taken additional time to plan and prepare for indoor classes and are confident our safety protocol and new studio layout will offer incredible classes while keeping all our guests and staff safe.

Bcycle will begin indoor classes starting Wednesday July 15th! We will also continue offering some virtual classes throughout the week, as well as our On Demand subscriptions for riders and fitness members who wish to take classes at home on their own schedule.

What to expect…

As part of the Burke’s approved reopening plan, we have redesigned the entire facility into three sections: Gym 1, Gym 2 and Bcycle & Fitness. Each section has its own entrance and amenities. You will see signs on the doors indicating each section. Our Bcycle & Fitness guests will use the main entrance and turn left (same entrance as before). Continue passed the front desk and lobby and you will see the doors to Bcycle and Gym 1 on your right. This entrance and area is designated for Burke’s staff and our Bcycle and Fitness guests only. All other children and guests for BTA are using separate entrances and walkways.

Indoor Spin Classes – we have transformed part of Gym 1 into a massive spin studio! At this time, classes will have 10 bikes available plus the instructor in a spacious 1,200 sq foot space (image on left above). Bikes are spaced a minimum of 10-15 feet apart to encourage social distancing with views of the instructor and mirrors. Ceiling fans will not be in use at this time, but this temperature controlled space will make sure you are comfortable throughout class. We also moved our top of the line audio equipment from the Bcycle studio to the new spin space offering an amazing in-studio ride! All class registrations must be reserved online. We do not allow walk-ins so please ensure you reserve your bike in advance and follow the pre-screening and safety protocols prior to class.

Indoor Fitness and Kickboxing Classes – the Bcycle spin studio has been cleared out and is available for one-on-one personal training. The studio offers a clean, bright space with mirrors and spectacular sound quality. Please email us or leave a message to schedule your personal training. All of our group fitness classes will be held in Gym 1 on our Olympic size spring floor. This 3,400 sq foot space encourages social distancing during class yet still gives you plenty of room to workout. We are limiting group fitness classes to 15 participants plus instructor. With a sound system that will get your body moving, a floor that will make you feel like you’re working out on a cloud and instructors who will motivate you to new levels, there’s no doubt you will leave class feeling accomplished and healthier than ever!

The following guidelines and expectations have been established to ensure the safety of our guests and staff. Please ensure you follow them so we can continue offering indoor classes!

COVID-19 Prevention and Safety Protocols:

  1. All Bcycle & Fitness guests must complete our mandatory pre-screening prior to their first class. The pre-screening only needs to be completed once but everyone should continue to perform a daily self check prior to entering the facility. If you have any signs of fever or cough, please do not come to the facility and consult your physician.
  2. Guests must enter through the main entrance (doors under Burke’s signage) then take a left towards the front desk and waiting area.
  3. Doors will open 10 minutes prior to the start of class.
  4. Be courteous of your fellow classmates & instructors. Continue practicing social distancing and remain 6 feet apart.
  5. Wear a mask or face covering upon entering the facility and continue wearing it until the start of class.
  6. Leave all handbags, backpacks, gym totes and personal belongings in your car, as we will not be utilizing the gym lockers at this time.
  7. Bring your own water bottles as our vending machines and water fountains are not available at this time.
  8. After your class has ended, please use the disinfectant wipes to clean your bike / equipment and dispose of wipes in studio trash bin. Please put your mask on prior to leaving the studio. You will exit through the same front doors that you entered.
