VIRTUAL CLASSES

Burke’s is excited to offer virtual classes using Zoom video conferencing. We hear it all the time… how can my kids practice at home? Now you are able to see first hand different skills, drills and ways to continue to practice. These classes will be interactive with teachers and students. Parents will get a link sent to them via email which will bring them to class.

Beginner Tumble

Calling all beginner tumblers and gymnast! During this quarantine lets learn some new skills! In this class your child will learn handstands, cartwheels, bridges and more! Perfect for ages 3.5 – 5 years.

Cartwheels, Round-Offs and

For those that are new to tumbling, this is a class that will focus on all the basic skills! We will work on how to start and finish each skill and how to perfect them along the way with proper technique. Great for ages 5 to 8!

Beginner Intermediate

Handstands are a one of the most important skills, if not the most important skills in tumbling and gymnastics. If you can learn to do a handstand the correct way, it will help all your other skills thereafter. Did you know you pass through a handstand position in a cartwheel? What about a back walkover and a back handspring? There are many different types of handstands and this class will break them down. Ages 5 and up.

Intermediate Advanced

This class will focus on perfecting back / front walkover technique and execution, as well as drills for round-offs and back handsprings. Ages are welcome. Things you will need for class: gymnastics or yoga mat if you have one, a chair, a wall to do a handstand if accessible. Great for ages 6 and up!

Advanced Tumbling

This class will focus heavily on technique and drills for standing back handsprings, back tucks, layouts and fulls. Things you will need for class: gymnastics or yoga mat if you have one, a chair, a wall if accessible. Great for ages 8 and up!

All About Standing Tucks

Pre-requisites needed: Round-off back handspring, standing back handspring, and working round-off back handspring back tucks.

A standing back tuck is a goal for many athletes to achieve. This is a skill that takes time, hard work, and lots of strength.  From start to finish, from your jump and set to sticking your landing, you will work through each part of the skill. Great for ages 7 and up.
